~Vital Stats and Appearance~

(Pen)Name: Catwing. But really it’s Hannah, which is the name that will appear on my books. 🙂

Nickname: Catwing? (I haven’t had a nickname since I was very little… And those are never spoken of again… *nods*)

Birthday: …Somewhere in the beginning of the year. *gestures vaguely* Like February… But not Valentine’s Day… Nope…

Hair color/length: I’m going to go with brown, about waist-length.

Eye color: …Some sort of blue, like blue-ish gray. (But Catwing’s eyes are yellow with green just around the pupil… because that’s what my cat’s eyes look like. :3 )

Braces/piercing/tattoos: None… I’ve had braces before though, but now I’m free from all those tooth/mouth aches, adjustments, putting them on (twice), taking them off (twice, I went through two phases…), nightmares (you know the ones where all your teeth fall out? I blame my braces a bit for that…). Yep…

Righty or lefty: Righty.

Ethnicity: American. But I am part Cherokee (1/36th or something like that) and part Scottish (You’ll never guess what clan… Rose clan. XP).

~Firsts~

First novel written: The first novel I started writing was maybe Firebird… But it is not finished… Nope… (The Chronicles of the Golden City doesn’t count since it is much shorter than a novel.)

First novel completed: Finding Secrets (I wrote it, I just have to edit it… Yes… Editing…)

Award for writing: That short story I mentioned before is the only award I’ve gotten for writing… So far.

First publication: You didn’t have to ask this question… Yet here you are… Asking that question… Just no… *shakes head*
Kay: She self published two very short chapter books.
They are terrible…
Kay: Yes. Red carpet, Yellow walls, blue doors. In the same room. And the dog was told it was these colors. But by who?
Glad you agree. Thanks for not mentioning the really terrible ones. I didn’t know dogs weren’t totally color-blind then…
Kay: See You At Lady’s Dress.
S.A.L. *hides face* I was eight!
Kay: Technically you revised it when you were eleven.
It is sooo horrible!
Kay: But it has secret agent animals.
The first one was only dogs…
Kay: The bush though.
*shoves Kay out of room* I need to finish this blog post!
Kay: *as she is being shoved out* What about the sequel? Where the character just dreams-
GO!! *closes door*

Conferences: I am going to a writing conference next week! I’ll try to remember to take pictures.

Query/pitch: I haven’t queried or pitched before.

~Favorites~

Novel (that you wrote): My favorite is one I haven’t written. But of the ones I’ve written, Finding Secrets. Because of the ending. I love it so much. But I know everyone else will scream at me for it… *smiles contentedly* I love my job. I can’t wait for starting the sequel. And watching my reader’s reactions…

Genre: Sci-fi, Fantasy, fairy tale rewrites, and action.

Author: *ponders* James Riley (waiting on the fifth book in the Story Thieves series he wrote), Gail Carson Levine (Ella Enchanted), Marissa Burt (Storybound), Jenny l. Cote (Epic Order of the Seven, I met her twice. Scottish festival and home school conference ^.^). I really like The Guadians of Ga’Hoole and Wolves of the Beyond by Kathryn Lasky, but I think some of her other books are not very good.

Writing music: Soundtracks, like Big Hero 6, Tron, How to Train Your Dragon, Legend of the Guardians: Owls of Ga’hoole(except sometimes), Star Trek, Pirates of the Caribbean(but I’ve never seen the movies), etc.

Time to write: Evenings. Cause I’m finished with the other things I have to do first and I’m a bit of a night owl.

Writing snack/drink: I don’t know… Oh, wait chocolate.

Movie: Legend of the Guardians: Owls of Ga’hoole. *nods* Play the sound track I will quote the movie to you (not exact quote, roughly. It’s been awhile since I saw it)… Why I sometimes can’t listen to it when writing… “Into battle we do fly! Even if we are going to die!” “I said encouraging!” “Wait, I haven’t even gotten to the best part!”

Writing memory: Playing Littlest Pet Shops writing the opening scene to The Chronicles of the Golden City. The LPS I had gotten as a christmas/birthday present inspired the start of the whole trilogy. Nuts (squirrel), Boxer (boxer… I know), and Biscuit (chihuahua).

Childhood book: The Guardians of Ga’Hoole… I still love it and the movie too. 😀

~Currently~

Reading: The Thing With Feathers, By Mccall Hoyle (who I met, when I won the library short story contest). I have been busy… So I’m taking my time…

Writing: Rewriting Finding Secrets, also a collaborative short story on a writing website I’m on. Namely, Story Embers.

Listening to: Legend of the Guardians: Owls of Ga’Hoole. “…bird’s eye view. Awake the stars cause their all around you. Wide eyes will always brighten the blue. Chase your dreams and remember me sweet bravery, cause after all those wings will take, you up so high…” ~To The Sky by Owl City (The one lyrical song… not sung by Twilight. :P). How I discovered Owl City’s music was that song.

Watching: Myself type words on this screen… I’m not really watching any series right now. Just waiting for Antman and the Wasp and Incredibles 2 to come out I guess…

Learning: Editing and… how to do publicity…

~Future~

Want to be published: Yes. *nods*

Indie or traditional: I plan on trying to go the Indie route and do publicity this time.
Kay: Unlike your first publishing?
How did you get back in here?
Kay: The door.
*facepalm*
Kay: Yeah. You’ve learned a lot about writing since that first book.
I have… So much… I had thought The Chronicles of the Golden City would be my masterpiece book. But then I learned more about writing… And your book now has taken it’s place…
Kay: *smiles* Yes… And your drawing has improved too. Cause you drew your own illustrations.
Goooooooo! *shoves Kay back out the door* There!

Wildest goal: Write all the books in my head… have all of them connect (except certain short stories, but I will probably try to connect them eventually…)… receive fanmail (probably mostly complaints about my poor characters lives… *grins* *shrug*)… and a few other things…

  1. Hey there Catwing! What, another righty? There are too many… we lefties are becoming rare creatures indeed. *nods* And you’ve never seen the Pirates of the Caribbean?! *pulls out mom voice* Go watch all five(?) of them. Right now. Oh, Indie. I, like yourself, an a shoe-box writer(though I’m not sure that’s the correct term for it…). I’ve never gone to a writing conference, won an award, or anything… mostly because I’m such a darn perfectionist I freak out when someone wants to see my work. XD Anyhow, thanks for tagging me! I’ll try to get to it as soon as possible. 😉 And good luck at that writing conference!

    • Yep, another one… Of many. 😜 (you lefties and ambidextrous(ambies?) have always been rare creatures)
      I may look into them…
I don’t know if that is the correct term either. But it sounds about right. *nods* I’m a bit of a perfectionist too (but I like showing people my stories. *shrug*)
      You’re welcome.
      Thanks! 😸

      • Haha yep. We’re few and far between nowadays. And you should totally check out the Pirates of the Carribean. They look weird at first… but trust me, they’re awesome. Haha, yeah I’m not much for letting other people see my work. My online english teacher was like, “can you turn in some of your writings instead of an essay on such and such next week?” And I’m like: “…. okay….I guess… maybe…” “…” XD

    • …thanks… 😜
Mostly the ghost of books future haunting me about books past (You reminded me of a Christmas Carol for some reason XD). Why is my future character haunting me about my past books? I don’t know. She’s just a bit strange like that.
