Last week was a bit of a swirling mess, meaning I got busy and forgot to post. But that’s probably cause it was my birthday. *throws feathers in celebration* Yay! I have a few tags that I need to catch up on, so today I’m going to do the 20 questions tag from Jenna. 🙂
#1: How many books are too many in a series?
I don’t know. My favorite series (The Guardians of Ga’Hoole) has 16 books, 2 extra guide books(with short stories and information stuffs), and a sort of sequel series of 6 books(Wolves of the Beyond) though it has different characters, it does mention the characters from TGOG.
I guess it depends, cause sometimes I just don’t want the series to end. But I’ll say 5, unless they’re really good. 😛
#2: How do you feel about cliff-hangers?
I love writing them. A lot. But reading them, I automatically start the next chapter (unless it’s at the end of the book). Because stopping is not an option. And trying to stop will only result in skimming ahead, then coming back to read the chapter… Basically they do what they are supposed to do. And if it’s at the end of the book… I just… try to forget… until the library has my hold… but sometimes it doesn’t work… so I just… survive… some how…
#3: Hardback or paperback?
Paperback! Yeah! They just are the best to hold and read and smell and look at and I just like them better.
#4: Favorite book?
One book? Okay, the first StoryBound by Marissa Burt.
#5: Least favorite book?
Hard questions here… Maybe that spy book I tried to read once but it was really bad and I didn’t like it, so I had to return it.
#6: Love-triangles, yes or no?
I normally don’t read romances that much(once in a blue moon you could say. Which is whenever I accidentally get one, cause it’s also about other things too.)… But I guess it all depends on how well done it is.
#7: The most recent book you couldn’t finish?
I can’t think of one right now.
#8: A book you’re currently reading?
Story Thieves: Worlds Apart. I finally got it from the library!
#9: Last book you recommended to someone?
*ponders* Maybe The Tale of Despereaux.
#10: Oldest book you’ve read? (publication date)
I don’t know. Maybe Pilgrim’s Progress.
#11: Newest book you’ve read? (publication date)
Probably Worlds Apart. Which was last March… *realizes how long she waited* Whoa…
#12: Favorite author?
I don’t know. Why must I choose? Okay fine. I’ll choose Marissa Burt. *nods*
#13: Buying books or borrowing?
Borrowing from the library. Cause it’s hard to make myself spend money for some reason. *pinches her pennies*
#14: A book you dislike that everyone seems to love?
I can’t think of any. Except those popular books that I don’t read cause I know I won’t like them. 😛
#15: Bookmarks or dog-ears?
Bookmarks. *nods* *whispers* No dog ears.
#16: A book you can always reread?
Kate DiCamillo’s books. They are very re-readable. 😀
#17: Can you read while listening to music?
Maybe. If there are no lyrics. But I don’t listen to music and read. *shrug*
#18: One POV or multiple POVs?
*cough* Erm. *nervous laughter* When I write I tend to try and do too many POVs… One book had six main POVs and the sequel I was planning on adding AT LEAST THREE more. *facepaw* It required some edits. So I guess I like multiple. 😬
#19: Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?
Usually it takes more than one day, unless it’s short or I’m sick. 😛
And that’s the tag. The first blog post in this new age of my life. 😛
What are some of your answers? What is a book you can always reread?
You can still submit a question to ask my character Alex here. 🙂
